REAL IT AWARDS 2018

The Real IT Awards (RITA) is an annual awards ceremony highlighting the best IT and Technology solutions in the UK. With over 400 attendees, it is one of the most important industry events in the UK.
BACKGROUND
Although the event was running for over 15 years, the organising company (CITF) was undergoing a major transformation and found itself without its usual event manager and planning team. The marketing team I managed, along with the MD, took on the complete planning and running of the event which culminated in a successful ceremony in May 2018 with over 400 attendees.
SOLUTION
Every aspect of the event was managed via a detailed project plan and executed with a strict time and budget regime. I built a bespoke website for that event that allowed us to increase the coverage of the event and raise the judges' visibility. From booking the host and entertainment, securing sponsorship and charity partners to finalising the menu and designing the physical awards, my team and I managed every minute detail of the event. I ensured our process was documented in a way that allowed the next events to follow a pre-defined pattern of events.
RESULT
The 2018 event was a huge success. Financially we achieved the largest sponsorship revenue to date and attendee feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The event concluded without any incidents and set the standard for future editions.
